What can I do to help? Can I volunteer?

One of the best ways to support is by amplifying GoFundMe campaigns for fire victims. Visit our resources page for a list of vetted GoFundMe accounts. Choose those that seem underfunded or stories you connect with, share them on your social media, include links and encourage your followers to donate and repost. Keeping these victims in the public eye as the news cycle moves on is critical!
Can I apply for aid from The Soul Points Fund?

Unlike many nonprofit organizations, we are entirely run by volunteers. At this time, we’re not staffed like a traditional nonprofit, so we don’t have the capacity to review and vet individual applications.
How do you decide who receives gift cards and other donated resources?

We have deep personal ties to the Northeast LA community. We helped build the nonprofit theater Vidiots and have also been fortunate enough to have filmed many of our film and TV projects in the area. To distribute aid, we’ve partnered with local grassroots organizations—schools, churches, and parent groups—to identify fire victims who may not be accessing traditional relief efforts. Some are struggling with online applications, while others fear real estate developers exploiting their situation. By working directly with trusted community leaders, we ensure every donation reaches those most in need.
Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! The Soul Points Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donation is tax-deductible. If you need a donation receipt for your records, please email us at soulpointsfund@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!
How much of my donation goes directly to those in need?

Every single penny donated goes directly to fire victims—Katie and I personally cover all overhead costs to make this possible.
